Last updated on: Jul 31 2010
The new MacBook Pro family now comes in three sizes- the original 15 inch and 17 inch models and a new 13-inch model. The MacBook Pro comes with everything you need and more. The latest OSX and iLife come with your machine all set up including up to date iPhoto software, iMovie editing software and GarageBand. All of these include beginner tutorials that are extremely user-friendly. The multi-touch trackpad is perhaps the most impressive feature of this machine. The entire trackpad is a durable glass button that is incredibly responsive to touch. You can swipe through webpages like a book, swipe through applications, rotate photographs with a swipe and zoom in and out with a simple pinch of your fingers.
The MacBook Pro offers up to 500GB of harddrive storage so you can purchase whichever model suits your needs. It also has the capacity for up to 8GB of RAM making it an extremely fast machine for running plenty of applications simultaneously. The processor is based on groundbreaking 45-nm process technology and advanced Core microarchitecture and is available in speeds up to 3.06GHz.
The battery life on the MacBook pro is more impressive than ever. On a single charge the 13 and 15-inch models can last up to 7 hours and that 17-inch MacBook Pro can last 8 hours. The display is more vibrant on these new models, ideal for editing and reviewing photographs and gaming. It offers a 60 percent greater colour gamut than previous models and is free of arsenic and therefore more environmentally friendly. Every model of the MacBook Pro features the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor, which provides the superb graphic experience that Macs are famous for. Providing smooth, efficient graphics for even those most intensive applications and games, the graphics performance of the new MacBook Pro family is startling.
The MacBook Pro comes with two USB 2.0 ports, a new SD card slot, audio line in and out, a mini Display Port for connecting the device to an external screen or device, a Firewire 800 port, a gigabit Ethernet port and a MagSafe power port. Of course, there is also a built-in iSight camera, perfect for chatting online with friends, family and colleagues.
